Teller (Full Time and Part Time)
Function:
Performs various functions to process banking transactions, sells bank services and products, and ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures. Promotes and maintains quality customer relationships.
Duties:
- Provides quality service to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Operates a teller terminal/equipment to process a variety of customer transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing.
- Processes, verifies, and records night deposits. Receives mail and sends deposit receipts to customers.
- Responds to customer inquiries and requests professionally and tactfully. Explains products, policies, and services and directs customer to appropriate staff for further assistance.
- Adheres to established procedures for security, identification, check holds, and check cashing to prevent fraud and loss.
- Sells/issues money orders, cashier’s checks, travelers’ checks, and savings bonds.
- Gathers information from customers and processes Currency Transaction Reports when necessary.
- Counts, sorts, and wraps coins.
- Proofs and verifies all work at day/shift end.
- Cross-sells bank products and services.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Six months cash handling experience
- Good oral communication skills and math aptitude
- Working knowledge of computer keyboard
- Working knowledge of 10-key calculator
